Roasting bettors

NBA star Kevin Durant is no stranger to roasting aggrieved bettors who complain when their bets go South, a new pheneomenon in the US as sports betting spreads to more states.

upped the ante in response to a social media post

On Sunday, however, Durant responded to criticism of his own. A social media post took aim at the Phoenix Suns power forward for telling “people to stop gambling” while also promoting FanDuel.

X user @therealbink1 attacked Durant after the NBA star posted his Week 16 NFL picks for FanDuel on the platform. Durant took to X in response, telling his critics to “stop complaining about this life that youve committed to:”?

The post has since gone viral, with more than 5.5 million views.?

In the public eye

Durant’s football-facing FanDuel link-up for the current NFL season was first revealed on Kaye Adams’ sports show on FanDuel TV and YouTube on September 26.

When Adams interviewed Durant on her Up and Adams show about the NBA star’s promotional tie-up, the ace hooper stated that “everyone’s making picks” and that “FanDuel’s for everyday people, man!”

Two months later, however, Durant has had enough of his critics, hitting back that he is “sick of it.”

The Washington, DC-born baller griped about bettors pointing fingers when their wagers fail, yet gloating about their future-predicting smarts when they win.

Blue-collar boob?

Durant’s response polarized X users over the weekend.

The face that the post has gone viral could be attributed to Durant’s strange assertion that there was “no gratitude to service workers like myself.” Durant’s self-applied blue-collar label was pounced on by X users, with @nikeboyaustin replying: “lmao:?

dude think he waiting tables n sh*t.”

The 36-year-old memorably called out bettors for abusing him last November, stating “Yall aint real.” Durant’s roast at the time came after he scored 39 points to lead the Suns to a double-overtime victory over the Utah Jazz.
