Controversial Saudi-backed golf league LIV Golf recently agreed to merge with the PGA Tour. Now, the league has struck a deal with Simplebet that will make the micro-betting product provider the golf league’s Official Sports Betting Innovation Partner.
low-latency video streaming of tournament action and single-screen in-play betting technology
Simplebet will distribute real-time data from tournaments to media platforms and sportsbooks across the world. It will also provide low-latency video streaming of tournament action and single-screen in-play betting technology.
When in-play betting rolls out for LIV Golf events, people will be able to wager on individual shots, such as whether a given player’s next tee shot will land on a fairway or if they will hole their next putt.
Speaking about the new agreement, Simplebet CEO Chris Bevilacqua said that the company and LIV Golf will “create the new blueprint for how sports leagues can maximize their IP through innovative betting.” LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman also welcomed the deal, asserting that this is the latest step in bringing golf into the future.
