The NFL has clarified its gambling policy following a raft of recent violations. On Tuesday, it held a conference call to discuss the matter, outlining six main rules that players should all be familiar with and follow.

They cannot bet on any NFL-related markets or place any type of wager while at a team facility or while traveling travelling to a road game. Players aren’t allowed to get someone else to place bets on their behalf or share any sort of inside information. They can’t enter a sportsbook during the season and cannot partake in daily fantasy football.

During the call, NFL Chief Compliance Officer Sabrina Perel stated that the league gets an alert if a player signs up for a gambling app using their own name. It is also incorporating a new rule that makes rookies go through a mandatory training course relating to the NFL’s gambling policy.

Numerous players have received suspensions in recent weeks over gambling policy violations. Some players were betting on NFL games, while others placed bets on other sports while at a team facility.
