WWE Wrestlers Able to Stream on Twitch Once Again

The ban that prevented World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestlers from showcasing content on third-party platforms like Twitch and Cameo is no more. Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon introduced the edict back in 2020 when a number of stars streamed on Twitch, including AJ Styles and Xavier Woods.

Reportedly, many wrestlers on the company’s roster were frustrated with the curtailment. Zelina Vega continued streaming after the introduction of the ban and the WWE released her as a result. Some wrestlers eventually met McMahon to discuss the matter and were told in April 2022 that he intended to change the policy.

Twitch and the streamers will get most of the revenue

Fightful Select revealed on Tuesday that “WWE and Twitch have reached an agreement to allow WWE wrestlers back on Twitch with almost no restrictions.” Talent will need to get approval before they stream with individuals from rival companies. Twitch and the streamers will get most of the revenue, with WWE receiving a smaller slice.

Dakota Kai is one wrestler who has already resumed streaming following the ending of the ban.

UFC parent company Endeavour Group has agreed to purchase WWE in a deal valued at about $9.3bn. Ari Emmanuel, CEO of Endeavor, is expected to assume the lead of WWE in both the short and long-term. Vince McMahon will remain in place as executive chairman, according to reports.
