Washington State’s Pierce County Corrections Bureau (PCCB) chief Patricia Jackson has stated that an unidentified 42-year-old woman with tuberculosis (TB), and a supposed casino penchant, is actively evading arrest.

King 5 on Friday cited Jackson’s statement from an April 3 court declaration. It stated that the woman was “actively avoiding” execution of a civil arrest warrant issued in March. On Friday, a judge found the woman in contempt of court, and ordered her to:

involuntary isolation, testing, and treatment at the Pierce County jail.

Despite being diagnosed with tuberculosis over a year ago, the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department said the woman has refused to take medication. To top it all, a PCCB officer watching the woman’s home in March tailed her to a casino after she used a bus to get there.

Since the casino appearance, the woman has not returned to her home. The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department said that while it hoped the woman would come forward voluntarily and get her contagious disease treated, enforcing the court order via a warrant was its “last resort.”
