Games previously embedded in sportsbook app
Daily fantasy sports and betting giant DraftKings has rolled out its standalone casino app in Pennsylvania. Prior to the launch on Tuesday, Keystone State customers could only access the suite of casino games through the DraftKings Sportsbook application.

In a statement, the Boston-headquartered organization informed that the new app will include games from third-party providers, listing International Gaming Technology as an example. It will also feature exclusive new games in addition to repackaged classics such as blackjack and roulette.
DraftKings also announced the mobile casino app launch on its official Twitter account:
Pennsylvania follows the Garden State
Pennsylvania becomes only the second US state in which the popular app is available, following its insertion into the New Jersey market last month. Promising Pennsylvanian players the “opportunity to experience a more holistic product suite and dynamic gaming experience”, the new casino standalone is currently available on iOS devices only.

The NASDAQ Stock Exchange-listed iGaming kingpin also stated that Pennsylvanian citizens will shortly have access to its custom Live Dealer Studio, which it says will operate 24/7.
Dream team-ups
As per state law, online gaming operators require a land-based casino partner before a license can be considered.
DraftKings secured state approval to run an online casino in Pennsylvania in May. After getting the nod from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, it officially launched its embedded app 48 hours later, having joined forces with Hollywood Casino located at Penn National Race Course.
For its sports betting application, DraftKings had previously secured a partnership with Meadows Racetrack and Casino.
Healthy market competition
The unveiling of the new casino app from DraftKings will provide healthy competition for the state’s market-leading online casino partnership between FanDuel and Valley Forge Casino. In February 2020, just one month after launching at Pennsylvania’s Valley Forge, FanDuel’s $4.8m in revenue accounted for 60% of the state total for internet table games.
In Tuesday’s official statement, DraftKings said it is now “prepared to unveil its Casino product in additional states where regulations allow”.
