Following state’s orders

Caesars Entertainment will be reopening its main hospitality and gaming facilities in Las Vegas once state officials announce a date and time. The Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel & Casino will be the first to resume operations. They will comply with the reopening orders issued by Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, public health bodies, and the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Both properties will offer accommodation and dining options as well as outdoor pool access. Slot machines and table games will resume in line with social distancing and other health and safety guidelines. Caesars’ self-parking facilities in Las Vegas will no longer carry any fees for the foreseeable future.

A phased opening plan

The LINQ Hotel & Casino’s gaming floor and Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino are set to be the next Caesars properties in Vegas to open their doors to the public. Customer demand will dictate the timing of these two reopenings.

In a press release, Caesars Entertainment CEO Tony Rodio said: “Reopening Las Vegas in a phased approach will be a significant milestone for Caesars Entertainment as the country continues to emerge from this necessary closure period.”

Rodio thanked everyone who has helped in the front lines during the ongoing public emergency. He added that he is hopeful that the company will continue making progress in reopening its facilities.

Some of the curtailments that will initially be in place include live entertainment, valet parking, buffets, bars, and spas. Social distancing guidelines will be followed when these amenities and services become available. Caesars has already announced new COVID-19 health and safety protocols for all its facilities.

Casinos getting back to business

The majority of casinos in the United States have been closed since the middle of March over the coronavirus pandemic. The crisis has led to the furloughing of hundreds of thousands of workers across the nation. Some casino operations will not be able to reopen at all following the shutdown.

some casino operations will not be able to reopen at all

Casinos started opening across the country over the past few days on a state by state basis, provided they have reduced capacity and follow relevant health and safety guidelines. Tribal casinos are not subject to mandatory state closure, but most have been compliant with the closure orders for non-essential businesses.

Some states are still taking a more conservative approach to reopening. Earlier this week in California, a casino that opened its doors was swiftly shut down by officials the following day.
